The Avtomat Eksperimental Koksharov 919K "Kashtan" (Koksharov Experimental Automatic, model 919K, "Chestnut") is a submachine gun that will appear in Survarium.

Background

Developed in the mid-1990s by Kovrov Mechanical Plant, the AEK-919 was originally based on samples of the Austrian Steyr MPi-69. Several flaws were found during testing and after further improvements and testing the design was renamed as AEK-919K "Kashtan". First used in 1995 by special units of the FSB, by 2003 it had seen use in various branches of Russian internal security and by military crewmen.

Overview

The AEK-919K Kashtan is available at rank two ("Lance Corporal") of the Renaissance Army. Like many of the early SMGs, it features low armor penetration and accuracy but is relatively lightweight. Compared to other weapons in its tier, it has an above average rate of fire, but a low magazine capacity of 20 rounds. It's advised to use it at short ranges where possible, since its small magazine size makes longer engagements more risky.
