The Avtomat Spetsialnaya "Val" (Special Automatic rifle, "Shaft") is an assault rifle that appears in Survarium.

Background

Developed during the late 1980s by TsNIITochMash, the AS Val was designed for special forces use along with the VSS Vintorez. It was primarily intended to replace the use of AKMs with simple detachable suppressors and subsonic ammo by units such as Russia's Spetsnaz at the time. In 1987 it entered service with the Soviet Army and KGB and has gone on to be used by the MVD, FSB and several other elite units.

Overview

One of the high-tier weapons of the Renaissance Army, available at their eighth rank, "Major". The AS Val features high damage, stopping power and rate of fire, giving it a very high damage per second output. It is also reasonably light, almost 30% more so than most other assault rifles, and is only heavier than the SR-3M Vikhr and 9A-91. Its main downsides are its lower than average accuracy and its small magazine size.
