The Avtomat Shturmovoy 12.7mm (Assault Automatic, 12.7mm) is an assault rifle that appears in Survarium.

Background

Developed by the TsKIB SOO arms design bureau on request of the FSB, the ASh-12 was designed as a dedicated close-quarters or urban environment weapon, intended for dealing with serious law enforcement operations. In order to accomplish this, the designers created a cartridge that would have high stopping power but limited penetration. The first batch of ASh-12 rifles was delivered to the FSB in late 2011.

Overview

The ASh-12 is available at the final Fringe Settlers rank, "Magister", and serves as one of their top-tier weapons. Functionally, it bridges the gap between assault and battle rifles, possessing an automatic fire mode but slower than most assault rifles and damage which is less than battle rifles but greater than assault rifles.

Its best statistics are its armor penetration and stopping power, which are the highest in the assault rifle category and comparable to sniper rifles. Its worst aspect is its damage per second, which due to its rate of fire being roughly a third less than most other automatic rifles and its damage being only marginally higher, is one of the lowest in its category.
