The Colt Python is a revolver that appears in Survarium.

Background

A traditional swing-out cylinder style revolver, the Python was first introduced in 1955 to wide acclaim and was produced up until 2005. Originally intended to be a target revolver, it was known for its accuracy and was eventually marketed as Colt's top-of-the-line model for the premium revolver market.

Overview

The Python is the Black Market's sidearm, available at their third rank, "Foreman". It is unique in that it deals double the raw damage of any other handgun and has a higher armor penetration value than most. It also has the highest accuracy and dropoff range, making it an ideal sidearm for short-range primaries like submachine guns and shotguns.

Interestingly, despite having high damage and accuracy it has the same recoil pattern as most pistols, making it easy to keep on target. To compensate for this it has an incredibly long reload time, more than double that of any other pistol. It also has the lowest magazine size and rate of fire, making it difficult to use in close quarters, and is very heavy for a sidearm.
