The Mosin crbine is a bolt-action rifle that appears in Survarium.

Background

Originally developed in the 1880s by Captain Sergei Ivanovich Mosin, the Mosin rifle was designed as a replacement for the Berdan single-shot rifle. After initial trials, evaluators were split in their decision between the Mosin rifle and another entrant by Léon Nagant. After subsequent trials, the Mosin was selected and it entered service in 1891 with improvements borrowed from the Nagant rifle.

Overview

In Survarium, the Mosin carbine is one of the starting weapons available to all players along with the PPSh 41 submachine gun, TT-33 pistol and the Winchester Model 1894. Compared to most rifles, it features average damage, armor penetration and rate of fire, but high accuracy and weight. It serves as a reasonably effective early-game rifle, capable of killing most mid-level armored survivors, even at higher levels.
