The Pulemyot Kalashnikova Pekhotnyy "Pecheneg" (Kalashnikov Machine gun, Infantry, "Pecheneg") is a light machine gun that appears in Survarium.

Background

A modernised version of the PK machine gun, the Pecheneg was developed in the 1990s as a result of experience in Afghanistan and Chechnya. It was intended for use as a dedicated squad-level weapon in mobile units and designed to be able to provide much more sustained firepower than previous versions. It has been in service since 2001 and has been issued to Russian Army Spetsnaz and other troops in significant numbers.

Overview

The Pecheneg is one of the top-tier weapons available at the top Renaissance Army rank, "Colonel". It has extremely high damage, armor penetration and stopping power, comparable to some battle rifles, but also features a 100 round magazine capacity and high first shot accuracy. Its only statistical downside is its weight, which is one of the highest for any weapon available.
