The Renaissance Army are a faction that appears in Survarium.

Overview[]

Formed from the remains of various army forces from ex-USSR countries, they were the first to face the new dangers and feel the wrath of nature. Their aim is to form a new superstate in the ashes of the new world.

Background[]

Prior to the accident, a utopian idea of creating a new "superstate" was talked about among the top military ranks. They planned a series of military takeovers and force the unification of all the countries within the borders of the former USSR. The world-wide catastrophe ruined those plans. They suspected that the west's use of biological weapons was the reason behind the catastrophe.

Owing to the fact that the main powers of the Renaissance Army were concentrated in military bases, far from cities, they suffered far less from the catastrophe and the panic which followed. For a while the warriors continued their resistance but when they realised there was nowhere to seek help they made a decision to retreat to the arid areas of Middle Asia and regroup.

Possessing sizable military and human resources and cast from an iron discipline, it didn't take long before the Renaissance Army commanders began to implement their idea of recreating a new superstate in the chaos of the new world.

Equipment[]

Most of the army's armament was obtained from military depots, meaning that they have large supplies of modern weaponry such as the AK-74 and SVD, as well as older rarities like the RPD and Tanks. On top of common weaponry, they also possess experimental items which had not yet been officially in use by the time of the catastrophe.

The Renaissance Army was the first to face the new, altered nature and therefore they adapted part of their equipment to survive in the extremely aggressive environment. Their combatants rely on using very strong armour, assault weapons and tactical advantage obtained with the help of scanners, radars and other electronics.
