The Samozaryadnyj Karabin Simonova (Simonov Self-loading Carbine) is a semi-automatic carbine in Survarium.
Background[]
Based on experiences during World War II, the SKS was developed in the 1940s as a replacement for full-power rifles like the Mosin carbine, whose effective range was observed to be well beyond the typical engagement distances. Following the war, the SKS was adopted by the Soviet Army and remained in second-line service for decades. It has been widely exported and was highly popular on the civilian market in several countries.
Overview[]
The SKS is a mid-tier rifle, available from the Fringe Settlers at their first rank, "Hunter". It is one of the few battle rifles in the game, boasting high damage, armor penetration and accuracy. Its main downsides are its need to for frequent reloads due to its small magazine size and limited damage per second potential, both of which hinder its use in close quarters combat when compared to other weapons.
SKS-MF[]
The SKS-MF is a unique variant only available by purchasing it from the shop for 1,000. It features identical base stats but also possesses +10% silver received, +10% rate of fire and +25% reliability bonuses. It features a spot-style camouflage pattern on the wooden furniture in brown and light green.
