The Snaiperskaya Vintovka model 1998 (Sniper Rifle model 1998) is a rifle which will appear in Survarium.

Background

Designed in the late 90s, the SV-98 is based on Izhmash's series of full bore "Record" sport shooting rifles. From 2003 onwards it saw use in Russia's law enforcement and counter-terrorism units, as well as sniper units in the Russian Armed Forces, and has been used in combat operations in Chechnya.

Overview

The SV-98 is a mid-tier sniper rifle available from the Fringe Settlers at the fourth rank, "Pathfinder". Its stats are similar to the Remington 700, with identical damage, accuracy and ammo capacity. It differs in that it has a higher armor penetration rating but a lower rate of fire (the slowest of any sniper rifle). Additionally, it is also extremely heavy, only slightly less so than heavy weapons like the RPD.
