The Saiga-12K is a semi-automatic shotgun that appears in Survarium.

Background

Designed in the 1990s by the Izhmash plant, the Saiga-12 is part of a series of shotguns and hunting rifles based on the famous Kalashnikov assault rifle design. All configurations inherit the AK's piston-stroke automatic system and box magazine feeding. Due to its relatively cheap cost and reliability, Saiga-12 variants are widely used in the civilian market, Russian law enforcement agencies and private security services.

Overview

One of the top-tier shotguns, the Saiga-12K is available at the seventh Fringe Settlers rank, "Master". It serves as the marksman shotgun in Survarium, featuring the highest accuracy and falloff range for a shotgun, as well as one of the highest damage ratings. These factors mean it benefits the most from the use of slugs and can use them more effectively at range than other shotguns. Its biggest weakness is its magazine size, which is small for its level and almost comparable with low-tier shotguns.

Saiga-12S

The Saiga-12S is a unique variant only available by purchasing it from the shop for 2,000. It features nearly identical base stats, with the exception of its level (10) and weight (3.8kg). It also possesses +10% silver received, +15% reload speed and +25% reliability bonuses. It features a spot-style camouflage pattern in autumn colours that covers the entire gun.

Trivia

• In 0.28a, the Saiga-12K was changed to use a unique smallshot type which deals increased damage but costs more. This ammo type has a green shell casing in the lobby menu.
