The Vintovka Snayperskaya Spetsialnaya (Special Sniper Rifle) is a compact sniper rifle that appears in Survarium.
Background[]
Developed in the late 1980s on the basis of the AS Val for covert operations. Like the Val, it was intended for Spetsnaz units to replace AKMs with simple detachable suppressors being used at the time. It shares the same general design and integral suppressor as the AS Val but has been modified for long range engagements. Since 1987 it has seen use with special police and military units in Russia and neighbouring countries.
Overview[]
The Vintorez is a rare weapon in Survarium, found only through random drops after battles or from purchasing a premium bundle. Like the VSK-94, it serves as a cross between assault and sniper rifle, capable of automatic fire and also reasonably accurate. Its base stats are similar to the AS Val, with good damage and armor penetration, but better accuracy, lower rate of fire and smaller magazine capacity.
Compared to other sniper rifles, the Vintorez has lower damage and accuracy but a faster rate of fire and larger magazine size. Additionally, it is suppressed by default, an aspect which few other sniper rifles share. This makes it ideal for more mobile snipers who value the ability to make rapid follow up shots over shear damage per shot.
VSS "Vintorez"[]
The VSS "Vintorez" ("Threadcutter") is a unique variant only available by purchasing it from the shop for 3,500. It features identical base stats but also possesses +10% silver received, -10% aiming speed and +25% reliability bonuses. It features a spot-style camouflage pattern on the wooden furniture in a woodland colour scheme.
